5 Steps to Perfect Ponytails with Medium Length Hair!

Who doesn’t love a pony tail?  Guests in our Pleasanton, Livermore, and Brentwood hair salons are always looking to have more beautiful, manageable hair. Whether you have a chin-length bob or medium-length hair with layers, pony tails are easy do-it-yourself styles!!

For medium to long hair, start by back brushing your hair at the crown, close to the roots for volume.  

1. Part your hair far off the center for a dramatic side part. 
2. Start smoothing out the front and sides and gather at the nape into a hair band.  Make sure the band is secured nice and snug, you don’t want this style to slip out mid-day.  
3. Once the hair is in the band, gently pull the crown area up to recreate the volume.  
4. Next, take a small section of the hair from the pony tail and wrap it around the hair band to hide it.  Keep wrapping the hair until it is all wrapped and secure with a bobby pin under the pony tail.  
5. Smooth fly-aways with hair spray.
